LONG TIME NO SPEAK
It’s James here, Founder of Noteworthy Cards. It’s been a long time since we’ve posted on social media, published a blog post or sent an email, so this update is long overdue.
Why have things been so quiet around here? It’s because every other part of my life has been far from quiet!
From the very beginning of Noteworthy Cards, I’ve been running this social enterprise in my spare time. When we launched in 2018, I had a reasonable amount of spare time. These days, I have a young family and increased work demands, and very little spare time, so Noteworthy Cards has had to take a back seat in this season of life.
I’ve still been fulfilling orders, but marketing efforts and the development of new ranges of cards has slowed down.
THAT INFLATION THING
Over the past few years, inflation has caused significant increases to the cost of … well, everything, sadly. As a result, it has become more expensive to produce greeting cards, dispatch orders and keep Noteworthy Cards running.
Two of our social enterprise objectives are:
- to create and sell environmentally friendly greeting cards at fair prices
- to fund life-changing gifts for people suffering in poverty
We aim to keep our greeting cards affordable while ensuring a healthy margin that allows us to donate meaningfully to support people living in poverty.
With all of the above in mind, we’ve decided to increase the price of our greeting cards to $5 each. Australia-wide shipping will also increase to a flat rate of $5.
This new price point will enable us to continue our mission of inspiring people to love generously through words of encouragement while funding life-changing gifts for people suffering in poverty.
