As we begin a new year, we’d like to reflect on our highlights from 2019 and present a brief impact report. Read below to find out what we achieved over the past year.

WE CELEBRATED OUR FIRST BIRTHDAY

April 6 – We celebrated our first birthday! It was a great opportunity to reflect on the highlights of our first 12 months, which included selling enough cards to cover our initial business costs, and making our first donation to TEAR Australia to fund life-changing gifts for people suffering in poverty.

WE WERE MENTORED BY NAOMI SIMSON

June 5 – As a finalist in Microsoft Store and H&R Block’s My Business Mentor competition, Noteworthy Cards’ Founder, James Agnew, had the privilege of flying to Sydney for a mentoring session with Naomi Simson from Channel Ten’s Shark Tank. Her experiences with RedBalloon and other start-ups meant she had plenty of wisdom and insight to share. Naomi asked many questions and provided helpful ideas for James to consider as Noteworthy Cards strives to increase sales and grow our impact for people suffering in poverty.

WE LAUNCHED PUN CARDS

November 11 – We launched the Sullivan Collection—a clever range of pun cards featuring adorable watercolour illustrations by Adrienne Sullivan—giving people the opportunity to change the world one pun at a time! Adrienne is a molecular biologist from Adelaide who is currently living in London. Even while studying or working in the lab, she likes to draw little pictures in her notes. She was excited to support a worthy cause by contributing to Noteworthy Cards, and she hopes some of her cute doodles can bring a smile to someone’s face!

WE MADE A DIFFERENCE FOR PEOPLE IN NEED

We donated 100% of our profits to fund life-changing gifts for people suffering in poverty. In 2019 we sold 1,873 cards and funded $3,125 worth of Useful Gifts through TEAR Australia. These gifts support community, education, food and livelihoods, good health, safe water and sanitation in multiple countries around the world. We’ve chosen to partner with TEAR Australia because we love the way they facilitate long-term development projects with local communities, helping them gain the skills and resources they need to address local problems and come up with sustainable solutions.

THANK YOU!

We’re not interested in giving ourselves a pat on the back. Instead, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers who’ve made a difference by choosing to buy from Noteworthy Cards! We’re also really thankful for all the people who’ve contributed to and supported Noteworthy Cards in a number of different ways. You’ve helped maximise our impact for people in need, and for that we—and those we’ve funded life-changing gifts for—are very grateful.

We look forward to making even more of a difference in 2020 with our poverty-fighting greeting cards.
